Well no, I very much disagree with this. I myself don't think I fit in to any particular category, and don't really desire to either, thanks. I've never considered myself 'girly' or particularly 'tomboy', I like wearing (some) make up, I like shopping etc. but I am also inseparable with my jeans and still enjoy climbing trees and kickboxing for example. Things which could be considered 'tomboy'. I hate the way we have been almost brainwashed to automatically label people in a stereotype or group - Gothic/emo/chav/indie etc. What ever happened to just wearing what you liked and wanted to?
Jessie J is a perfect example of subverting this in my opinion. Her hair could be considered 'gothic' but her fun and eccentric style suggests otherwise. Jessie J always looks unique, and wears clothes/follows trends which fit her personality, and she looks awesome!
How about we all challenge ourselves to wear what we want to, experiment with different bits of different styles, and celebrate being ourselves!
